About Nixon Equine Veterinary Practice
Nixon Equine Vets provide a 24 hour / 365 day emergency equine veterinary call out service with an experienced equine vet always on duty from the equine clinic at Maid’s Moreton near Buckingham. The practice also routinely visits clients on a daily basis covering an area extending approximately 30 miles from the Buckingham equine clinic, encompassing Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northants and Oxfordshire.
Free telephone consultations and advice
Nixon Equine Vets clients have never been so knowledgeable, which influences our underlying philosophy of openness and close client involvement in all decisions. FREE telephone consultation with an experienced equine veterinary surgeon is always available Monday to Saturday between 8am and 9am to discuss client requirements. Nixon Equine works closely with complementary equine disciplines, providing referrals and advice to clients on topics such as saddle fitting, remedial farriery, equine dentistry, physiotherapy, equine nutrition and worming, enabling the practice to adopt a holistic approach to the total welfare of the horse. We run lecture seminars and publish online advice on various aspects of horse management benefiting both horse and owner.
A distillation of 50 + years equine veterinary experience
Nixon Equine Vets roots go back 1956 when Stewart Hastie began building a veterinary practice at Maids Moreton outside Buckingham. Jane Nixon joined the practice in 1978. In 2005, Stewart and Jane took the decision to create a practice focused solely on the horse, believing it essential in order to provide the best possible first opinion and referral service for their equine patients: a philosophy supported by many professions. Thus Nixon Equine Vets was born in June 2005 and just a year later our new brand new, fully equipped equine clinic was completed, swiftly followed by RCVS Accreditation. Stewart and Jane are joined by 3 more equine vets and their enthusiastic team.
Nixon Equine Vets care about your horse as much as you do
Like others in both the amateur and professional horse world, we are conscious of the economic climate. To help our many clients and friends we are “dumbing down” our fees and charges. All prescribed drugs, dressings and materials, including wormers, are provided at competitive prices whilst not sacrificing quality, in line with the thinking of the Veterinary Medicines Directorate. Having reviewed all ethical aspects of Nixon Equine veterinary practice, we believe we provide the best possible equine veterinary service at an affordable price.
