As a veterinary practice focussed totally on horses with a modern equine clinic serving horses in Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire & Oxfordshire, we are one of very few UK equine veterinary practices awarded Tier 2 Equine General Veterinary Practice Accreditation by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

- As an RCVS Accredited dedicated equine veterinary practice, our clients can rest assured that our practice offers a high quality of care; both in those bits of the practice you can see and those that you can’t.
- In addition to complying with Core Standards, such as health & safety, hygiene and legal requirements and the provision of 24-hour cover, we also have access to lab facilities for diagnostic testing, a system for monitoring the outcome of treatments and show commitment to the education and training of staff. Subject to spot-checks and 4 yearly re-inspections, we have to keep on our toes! The Practice Standards Scheme is a voluntary initiative. Not all practices are part of it. RCVS recognises Nixon Equine Vets as a centre of excellence
- We accept performance related equine referrals from more than 30 miles away + locally on a strictly professional ethical basis - the RCVS considering this practice to be qualified in terms of professional expertise and facilities as a Centre of Excellence and a Referral Centre in this field.
RCVS raising veterinary practice standards
- Nixon Equine is proud to be an approved member of the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme; a voluntary initiative to accredit veterinary practices in the UK that aims to establish a quality assurance framework to promote and maintain the highest standard of veterinary care, thus offering peace of mind to clients of accredited practices and greater choice to the animal-owning public. As an accredited practice we have passed inspection carried out by an experienced veterinary surgeon focusing on a range of areas, including hygiene, health & safety, clinical governance and the facilities we provide, to name just few of the many criteria.
