Nixon Equine Vets Winter Dressage Championships 2008

For the 5th year running Nixon Equine will sponsor a winter dressage series at Milton Keynes Eventing Centre. To qualify gain 58% and be in the top 3 in any dressage class at MKEC. The winner receives a Nixon Equine championship sash and numnah. Winner and runner up receive a PS Hastie veterinary manual. Rosettes to 10th place. Nixon Equine Vets Winter Dressage Championships 2007
The weekend 11/12 March 2007 saw the 3rd running of the annual Nixon Equine Dressage Championships at MK Eventing Centre. Riders qualified for this popular competition at indoor events over the winter with the Championships popularity spanning a 2 day championship. Nixon Equine Vets are delighted to announce the winners (with photos) below. Alternatively view the full score sheets and placings in detail here.
The restricted prelim class judged by Avril Ijesselmuiden produced some excellent tests with many riders scoring highly. The class winner was Caroline Clews riding Woody who took home an "Equinalysis" together with a Nixon Equiie Dressage numnah, championship sash & rosette. Linda Anderson on Landfurst De Heers was runner up. Juliet Blayney from Nixon Equine attended the prize giving.

The Prelim Championship class judged by Abbey Latham was won Kirsty Farren riding Irish Whisper with a score of 70.42%. These worthy champions also took home ribbons, sashes and the excellent prizes provided by Nixon Equine of a numnah and an equinalysis. A very close second was the junior rider Tija Cowie on her mount Kenmare Tobia on 70%. Well done to both these riders.  This was a tightly fought contest with ties in 4th  and 9th places.  Jane Nixon & Stuart Hastie of Nixon Equine attended the prize giving.

The Novice and Elementary Championship class judged by Mrs Ackland saw a very excited Lisa Earl and Mirastella ride the test of their lives to take the class with a 69.62%. Lisa rode early in the class and sat on tenterhooks thereafter but maintained the lead to the end. Kirsty Farren & Tija Cowie winners in the prelim championships were both kept at bay to take 2nd & 3rd respectively. Prizees were presented by Jane Nixon &  Stuart Hastie to the delight of the winners.

Avril Ijesselmuiden kindly returned to judge the last class of the championships which was taken in style by an on form Alison Kenward riding Rachel Harris’s Roughway Jack.  This pair notched up 69.29% for E50 ensuring that they too took the title. A delighted Alison said that she had been thinking of treating Jack to an equianalysis and now he had won it himself.

Nixon Equine Vets winter dressage series 2005 and 2006
In 2005 and 2006 in association with Milton Keynes Eventing Centre (MKEC) Nixon Equine Vets sponsored a winter dressage series culminating in a final held at Milton Keynes Eventing Centre (MKEC) the following Spring. Such was the popularity and success of this series that Nixon Equine is continuing sponsorship of this event for the 3rd year running in 2007.
Nixon Equine Vets "Search for a Rider" competition 2006
In 2006 Nixon Equine Vets sponsored a 'Search for a Rider' competition in association with Milton Keynes Eventing Centre (MKEC). The aim was to find and fund training for a number of talented riders in both dressage and show jumping disciplines. The winners in each equine discipline were announced at the opening day of the brand new Nixon Equine Vets equine clinic, when they were awarded a voucher to cover the cost of training with a highly respected trainer in their respective disciplines.
